Ayurveda is a mind, body and spirit approach to health and wellness. It takes into consideration the uniqueness of an individual and uses the education of five sense treatments, including diet, herbs, mantras, meditation, yoga, aromas, massage, colors, music, cleanses, and other therapeutic lifestyle changes to maintain wellness, prevent illness, and restore health.
In an Ayurvedic consultation there is a focus on education so that you may identify the root cause of your health imbalance by understanding your unique constitution. As a practitioner, we look to educate you so that you may make the choices to restore balance and harmony to the mind, body and spirit, thus avoiding the onset of symptoms. If you are already ill, Ayurvedic lifestyle changes can help you to create the optimum environment in your body for healing to take place. With awareness around taking personal responsibility towards your health, Ayurveda can help you feel better about life and have greater energy and enthusiasm.
Through this consultation the nature of a person and any health or lifestyle imbalances are identified. Together, we then craft an Ayurvedic program that not only includes foods and herbs but also aromas, colors, massage, detoxification, yoga, and meditation - all aimed at restoring or maintaining balance.
The Initial Consultation
On your first visit, I will guide you through an in-depth intake of your health and lifestyle practices; in turn, I will help you develop an understanding of your unique Ayurvedic constitution and the possible root causes of any imbalances and challenges. Based on this information, together we will design a program using five sense treatments, including diet, herbs, mantras, music and other therapeutic lifestyle changes. The final portion of your initial consultation includes a report of Ayurvedic findings and may be scheduled on a separate day. A full consultation and report of findings may take up to three hours and be over two sessions. Ayurvedic education and designed programs may require purchasing of specific herbs, vitamins, teas, and lifestyle products.
